Yes, Kaustav choudhuri is a young film director of Bangladesh who had also directed an indian film which had won a best film maker prize. So Koustav was invited to Kolkata to attend ‘Indian film festival’ programme.
A single bed luxury room in a five star hotel was booked for the young film director. The hotel was multi storied in which Kaustav’s room was on the fifth floor but that was no problem for the young man because the hotel was well equipped with lift arrangements of three at every floor. Only at night Kaustav took too much time returning to hotel for a fabulous grand dinner Kaustav had to attend every night. So one problem used to wait for the young film director that no lift machines worked at midnight and poor Kaustav got compelled to ascend till fifth floor on foot.
However, that never mattered on the young man. He did it very comfortably. Here one point should be shown that some beautiful lady had been standing on the fourth floor stair turning since three nights. It was as interesting as surprising well for Kaustav.
Every morning at around 9 am. Kaustav used to take a heavy breakfast from hotel canteen before leaving for work. Next morning too Kaustav was taking such a breakfast. Suddenly after raising eyes Kaustav could find a beautiful lady with fair complexion, a pony tail of black curly hair back, two expressive black eyes standing before him in the canteen cabin. Naturally Kaustav got quite astonished at this scene which had been seemed to him to be very desperate attempt and an exceptional. Still Kaustav welcomed that lady with smiling face and asked him to take her seat in the front chair. The charming lady did it happily and said,”Hi I’m Chandrani.” Kaustav also reciprocated,”I’m Kaustav and ordered for another plate of breakfast for that woman. Both strangers got engaged in gossips, suddenly Kaustav noticed that the lady’s plate was left quite empty but how could it be possible because the woman erstwhile not even had touched the plate. Kaustav had curiously asked the woman about it but the lady felt disturbed at that question and replied irritatingly, “I’m a fast eater.”Kaustav questioned her nothing further because he never wanted to lose such a beautiful company. Rather Kaustav described to her about that midnight lady standing at the stair turning.The unknown lady ridiculously asked Kaustav,”Why didn’t you ask that woman directly?” Kaustav answered,”I always feel shy to talk to any stranger lady.” The woman started bursting into laugh at such a confession of Kaustav.
After having passed time in such a chatting the young lady waved a bye to young director. Then Kaustav asked her,”Should we meet again in future?” The lady asked Kaustav,” Do you want it?” Kaustav conceded to it,”Of course! Why not?” The lady replied,” Then we’ll meet again.” Both left.
At that night on returning hotel Kaustav noticed that same lady standing on the same spot. Tonight Kaustav marched towards that lady. Now he could see that the lady was no one else but Chandrani. Now Kaustav had watched that Chandrani was looking more beautiful. Kaustav could n’t control himself from hugging her but he was thwarted by Chandrani like this,” You just look back, who is there ?”Kaustav looked behind only to see that another Chandrani taking a plunge out of the balcony window. Kaustav looked everywhere to search Chandrani but found her nowhere. Now Kaustav started shouting,” Chandrani..Chandrani..Chandrani ” Everyone came out of their rooms and asked him,”What happened?”Kaustav replied,”Chandrani jumped below on the passage.” Every body followed Kaustav to the ground floor passage just to see no one was lying there.” Now Kaustav got fainted and the watch man explained to all that Chandrani was a hotel singer who committed suicide just on this date five years ago and she stayed at this fifth floor. It’s her duty to frighten any handsome young boarder at the same day.
