Normally Bimal leaves home for office at half past 1pm. because an afternoon duty was alotted to him for an indefinite period but today a management conference is scheduled to be held around 1pm..That’s why the techie had to leave home on 12 O’clock. However, when Bimal reached the platform no.3 he noted that there was a pretty rush more than other day. So Bimal could guess out very quickly that he hadn’t any chance to get a seat in the local train that noon.
Bimal had already come to know that a train on his route had already left just three seconds before. So the intelligent young techie was reluctant to bear too much suffering, so he had taken seat on an empty platform bench. Bimal for a few minutes got unmindful. Suddenly he could find a middle-aged man sitting on the other end of the bench with a smiling face at Bimal. Bimal also got ready to throw him a return courtsey smile. The man had asked Bimal,”What’s your name, Sir? I’m Shaila Guha. Are you a new passenger in this route?” Bimal replied,”I every day commute this route but today in order to attend a conference I’m travelling earlier.” The stranger answered,”oh I see! So you seem to be quite unknown to me. I’m a regular commuter in this train”During such a dialogue going on between the two the next train had arrived at platform. Bimal and Shaila both got inside a general compartment but it was overcrowded. Hence both remained standing. By the time when some passengers got down off the train, window side two seats became vacant. Bimal hurriedly had occupied one of them and urged Shaila to sit on the window side seat.
After some time Bimal had noted the standing passengers slowly getting annoyed with some one. Within moment they started to shout against Bimal,”Dada,why have you left window seat empty unnecessarily while such huge number of us is suffering for no seat?” Just right at once some furore could be heard from the door side….’Alas the man had missed his grip on the door handle and fell from the train.’ Bimal immediately asked someone else, “What happened?” The passenger answered,”some passenger had fallen from the train. This is usual scene. Few years before Shaila Guha also fell prey of such an accident in the same train and on this same date.”
Bimal got stunned with this news and immediately turned his head back to look for his co passenger only to see Shaila missing there.
