Dr. Suresh Moitra is a famous eye specialist. His reputation is fast thriving with his skilful treatment. No patient does have to go back baffled in despair with his treatment. All the day Doctor examines various opthalmic cases in a government hospital. After it he returns home in a tremendous weariness either at 6 o’clock in evening or some days he gets little late upto at 10pm.
In such a hurriness his only recreation is to visit any fare or exhibition and to buy different kinds of items like doll, statue, portrait, oil painting , flowervase of his own choice.
It was a rest day for doctor. As usual doctor had planned to visit a china clay exhibition. He indeed had done it and purchased a wonderful full figure statue of a santhal boy with a bunch of wood logs upon his head. The statue was so lively that doctor got amazed. He without hesitation bought the statue even at high price and brought it home. Doctor decorated his living room by placing the statue just in centre of a round shaped table of fine glass.
After a few days when the doctor was examining the patients at hospital he got really surprised to see the name of a patient….Gangtu. The patient had mentioned his own identity as tribal. However, Dr Moitra had called that tribal man in scheduled time as per patient’s serial number. Yes, it was a young tribal boy with an accurate resemblance of that very china clay statue which Dr. Suresh had purchased from an exhibition. Unfortunately the boy did have some optical problems.
Dr. Suresh had a habit to take a glance on all his choicable items bought from fares after returning home from duty every day.
On the other hand, the condition of Gangtu’s eyesight problem day by day was getting worse. Surprisingly the eyes of the statue also were getting worsened parallely. This had mattered on the doctor very much. Anyway doctor had tried all out to heal Gangtu to recovery but in vain. Slowly Gangtu was about to lose both his visions and the eyes of the tribal statue also were getting dampened to be vanished. When Dr Suresh had failed to treat Gangtu’s optical problems the statue’s eyes also had surprisingly disappeared.
