Deepjyoti belongs to a under privilege lower middle-class family. As he is a good student he has a passion for education and passes out H S exam with first division grade. But problem appeared then when his father lost his job during the lock out in the jute mill where he toiled as a labour. Although Deepjyoti was very much interested in studying graduation course yet due to lack of money the poor boy lost all the hope of competing a graduation rather started searching a suitable job. As he was very reliable and honest boy he didn’t take too much time to get a watch man job in a new six storied building under construction.

It was a twenty four hours job. Deepjyoti was provided with a small room on the ground floor of the building furnished with a single bed wooden cot charpayia and a wooden wide shelf and a polythene chair to stay. Deepjyoti’s younger brother used to bring lunch and dinner both in usual time to elder brother.

During the daytime it was quite ok for Deepjyoti because he used to spend all the time along with the mistry till five o’clock in the afternoon but after it the young man started feeling lonely. As the night increased the darkness got severely pitch all the environment got too scary without any electricity.

One day Deepjyoti disclosed all those problems to the constructor of the building. That constructor agreed to stay with Deepjyoti at night. But after one week that constructor also stopped coming. It was more terrible for Deepjyoti.

That very night when Deepjyoti was in a deep sound sleep he got awakened by the sound of a funeral procession Balo hari hari bol. By that sound Deepjyoti got so much scared that he spent a sleepless night.

Next night again, when Deepjyoti got in a deep sleep at dead of night he was awakened by the sound of a hard plastic ball thrown on the floor of the same building. At once the young man started loitering all floors to detect the origin of the sound of the plastic ball but he could find nothing. That night also went on sleepless with him.

Next night when Deepjyoti was sleeping again he got awakened by the humen talking and laughing sound inside the building. Again he started enquiring the reason behind it and what he visualised that was really unbelievable. On the first floor Deepjyoti found a newlywed bride along with other young ladies enjoying some jokes among themselves. He got so much frenzied that he ran towards the second floor where he saw a marriage dias equipped with all arrangements. Then Deepjyoti headed for third floor where he saw a young man dressed up in groom’s attire sitting on a carpet surrounded by many people nicely dressed up.

Now Deepjyoti ascended the stairs just to see that the fourth and fifth floors were on engulfing fire. Then Deepjyoti got very shakey and nervous and at once he informed it to the fire brigade.

The fire fighter team reached that building only to watch the body of Deepjyoti gutted into some ashes and nothing else.

After an interrogation to the neighbours fire brigade team and police team came to know that building belonged to a rich businessman who had faced such a horrible incident of fire accident thirty years ago in which the whole building got gutted into fire. Now one promoter is reconstrucring that building.
