Ting Tong Ting Tong……the door bell rang for few times. Madhav Babu was having dinner along with his daughter in law Sucheta. Sucheta is really a good young lady. There is no other member in the family for Sucheta’s husband Mayank who is an electronic engineer has been transferred to a distant place. But here one thing should be mentioned that Madhav Babu and Sucheta have another one year old infant companion named Mainak the only son of Mayank. He was fully merged in deep sleep at his small cot. In between the food items taking turn Sucheta was serving next item to her father in law. Both were almost soundless at that time.
But as the bell rung, both had got alert. Madhav Babu whispered to sucheta,”Bouma, is the main door keeping safe?” Sucheta answered,”Yes it’s locked.” Madhav Babu again asked,”Have you got any news from Mayank?” Sucheta replied ,”Yes, he is quite ok. He is now on his way.” Still the bell was continuing to ring repeatedly. Madhav Babu got disturbed and murmured,”Who is knocking on the door in such a late night.?” Sucheta replied,”Don’t worry Baba, I’m going out to check it.” Madhav Babu said with dead objection,” Don’t go alone, I’ll follow you.”
Both opened the door to see that no one is there. Sucheta lamented,”We were so late that the stranger had left.”
Next night when the entire house was sunken in deep sleep some one shouted aloud ,”Open the door, Open the door, Pl. Hurry up….”Madhav Babu could sense that the voice was speaking from the balcony outside his room. But it was very surprising that the balcony was street facing, moreover on the first floor. Still Madhav Babu got highly worried and almost was about to open the door, Sucheta coming out of her room pushed her father in law back to remain safe.
Next night when Madhav Babu had already got into his bed and Sucheta was prepairing for it, the door bell rang for once. That night too both the in laws came out just to see that one bottle filled with fresh blood was kept on the door step. Erstwhile Sucheta was very cool but now she got panicked.
Next night the door bell again rang. Now both bouma and baba rushed out to watch an amputated little finger of a male person kept in a tight lid bottle had been left on the doorstep.
Next morning the door bell again rang. Sucheta opened the door and found Mayank with tightly tied with rope and tightly covered eyes with a piece of cloth was standing on the door. As he was alive Sucheta took proper care of him. Mayank was quite healthy and in tact.
This incident was informed to police and the news reached even to home ministry but Mayank kept spell bound and remained petrified till last moment. He uttered not a single word to anybody.
